Samuel Antonio

Hello, I am Samuel Castillo López, Teacher, Choreographer and Dance Performer.

My training as a dancer began at an early age linking me with various dance techniques, styles and dances. As a performer I participated in prominent independent companies, academies and television shows. In addition, in meetings, festivals and dance competitions obtaining relevant achievements. 

Being a choreographer and artistic director, I have created and participated in multidisciplinary teams premiering numerous dance and ballet works with community, regional, national and international presentations. I have more than 15 years of experience as a dance teacher in various artistic/cultural and academic/educational institutions in which I have held important positions.

I am a member of the Association of Dance Professionals of Chile, PRODANZA Chile A.G., tuition granted by relevant curriculum, in addition, I served as Vice President of the association. I participated in the creation of the School of the Arts of Maipú - ESAM belonging to the Illustrious Municipality of Maipú, where I served as Deputy Director General, Coordinator, Choreographer, Teacher and in many choreographic processes. In addition, I worked at the University of Chile. Faculty of Arts, Department of Dance as creator and performer of an interdisciplinary work of arts "RE - Encuentro" (2014), in its Itinerancy and national tour and in the Seminars "Scenic Interdisciplinarity: Body and Cultural Identity".

I studied a Bachelor of Choreography and Pedagogy in Dance - Theater and, later, a Bachelor of Arts obtaining outstanding grades and graduating with maximum distinction. My thesis entitled "My Body (Diverse) Implacable Topía" addresses the corporeal relevance of classical dance in the teaching-learning processes of academic technique in schools and dance academies of Maipú. My interest in the subject leads me to continue researching on these topics. In addition, I have completed postgraduate studies in Cultural, Artistic and Heritage Mediation.

Likewise, I have specialized in different dance techniques in Chile and abroad. Highlighting the internship carried out in New York (USA) in important dance schools and with outstanding teachers. I am interested in actively participating in creative teams and developing in cultural, artistic and educational areas that involve personal interrelationships.
