As a Senior Manager - Category Management you will develop and implement specific product category strategies and supplier growth plans designed to drive profitable sales growth of the category.

You will lead and oversee development of customer-centric category plans, working with Sales and Marketing to identify new growth opportunities and launch product capability initiatives.

You will manage product category resources, including strategic supplier relationships, product management, strategic marketing, finance, inventory and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing leadership to manage the relationship with large, complex suppliers. You will conduct and negotiate supplier contracting for operational and financial terms improvement.

You will drive continuous improvement and leads cross functional improvement and implementation teams centered on increasing product line capability and profitability.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with senior sales leadership to drive demand at targeted endcustomer markets for assigned product category.
  • Owns highlevel supplier relationships to create and implement joint strategies to drive profitable growth of category through the organization with targeted endcustomer segments.
  • Partners with information technology team to ensure data integrity in product line performance reporting.
  • Collaborates and leverages crossfunctional WESCO resources to drive profitable product category growth and maximize productivity.
  • Provides key input on pricing strategies to maximize profitability, brand, and product positions in marketplace.
  • Accountable for the annual category business planning and strategy execution for the category
  • Responsible for supplier contracting to improve operational and financial terms
  • Supports marketing plan development and execution
  • Effectively communicate key product messaging both internally and externally
  • Conducts supplier negotiations to obtain best value
  • Addresses supplier performance management and issue resolution
  • Leads others in the execution of the product category strategy

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing or relevant field required.
  • Master's degree in business, sales, marketing or relevant field preferred.
  • 5 years required experience in product category management experience
  • 2 years required experience demonstrated managing against budgets including sales and profit growth
  • 2 years required experience managing a team when competence in developing business plans and share was achieved preferred
  • 7 years experience in history of success maintaining and developing key relationships required.
  • 3+ years preferred experience in sales or sales leadership
  • Previous experience in electrical distribution market preferred
  • Previous experience working in matrix environment preferred
  • Previous experience in managing people preferred but not required
  • Proven ability to influence and lead change in a crossfunctional environment.
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Excellent business and financial acumen
  • Strong decisionmaking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams.
