About the Role


The position reports directly to the Ethics & Compliance Director and is responsible for supporting ethics and compliance processes throughout the Latin America region that ensure a culture of integrity enabling Uber to conduct its global business with the highest ethical standards, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and our own Business Conduct Guide and other policies.


What You'll Do

  • Review regularly and improve our compliance and ethics program to ensure it remains current
  • Support the development of future policies and procedures requested by the business
  • Review, interpret, update and execute the policies and Corporate and Local procedures
  • Support training curriculum for Uber employees, commercial partners and vendors
  • Continuous execution of the Compliance education program
  • Execution of the compliance communication strategy at all levels of the organization.
  • Regular communication of the compliance and ethics principles to foster ongoing awareness in the employees
  • Support the development of a local plan of communication to promote in Uber's employees the use and access to the Compliance site to review and know the different regional and local procedures and policies relevant to the business.
  • Ensure that our Compliance and Ethics program: provides effective prevention and detection of potential misconduct that could result in compliance or ethics violations.
  • Support Commercial activities such as the implementation of promotional programs and the launch of new products while ensuring Compliance with Policies and Procedures and Local Laws and Regulations.
  • Provide appropriate guidance and partner with the different Business Units and functional areas Provide accountability, empowerment and speed with rigor in the decisionmaking process, under the RAPID framework
  • Support follow up initiatives aiming to assure compliance with the policies and procedures that include but it is not limited to anticorruption, gifts and entertainment, promotional activities, expenses and COI.

What You'll Need

  • Integrity, decisiveness and good judgment in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Selfstarting ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong project management skills with the capability to establish action plans, set clear goals, monitor and communicate progress, and execute on all initiatives to completion with minimum direct supervision.
  • Ability to address conflict and difficult situations in a professional, calm, assertive and proactive manner
  • Able to build and maintain key relationships with both internal and external customers
  • A minimum of two years experience, with exposure compliance issues gained in a comparable function in government, law department, finance, internal controls, internal audit or forensic audit departments.
  • Juris Doctorate is preferred but not required

Other suitable backgrounds include:
Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Audit

  • Advanced Google or MS Suite skills
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Experience with learning management systems is a plus
