Purpose of Role:

To lead the manufacturing operations across the organization to meet the customer requirements on time, on quality and cost.

Deliver the output of manufacturing according the business strategy and goals.


Key task and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of SHE policies, standards, protocols and encourage the managerial involvement at the manufacturing operations.
  • Define the strategy of manufacturing operations to support the long and short term business growth. This includes review the plant capacity, define and implement capex, review external complementary capabilities, etc.
  • Define and implement plans to ensure the best class manufacturing operations in terms of safety, environmental, quality, cost efficiency and time.
  • Implement the necessary procedures and actions to meet the OTD % of manufacturing process
  • Lead and implement the LEAN manufacturing and VCE (value chain excellence) programs. This includes the implementation of the LEAN and Kaizen culture into the manufacturing. Encourage and promote into the manufacturing the identification and implementation of initiatives for continuous improvement. Kaizen projects, silver bullet projects, Lean, etc).
  • Review the people skills and define options to fill the gaps.
  • Identify the talent and develop them. Mentoring and coaching to the team members
  • Lead the cost controlling and cost savings plans. Implement actions to meet the PV and NUR in manufacturing,
  • Manage and improve the manufacturing procedures and support the process of external certifications of Quality, Safety, Environment and Energy. Ensure that the process and controls are properly implemented in manufacturing.
  • Approve and manage the manufacturing purchases (According approval matrix)
  • Identify and propose new technologies and changes in the procedures of manufacturing improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain good relationships in different org levels workers in the shops, professionals, managers and unions.
  • Obtain best class Peakon Engagement Sores % and NPS into the manufacturing and implement actions to improve the lower cases.
  • Ensure the implementation of compliance actions/programs defined by the company

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Under graduate qualification in business,, industrial engineering or similar studies. Business related master's degree highly regarded.
  • At least ten years' experience in managerial positions in a global environment and leading professional teams.
  • Desire experience in the mining industry or suppliers.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing process, systems and LEAN culture.
  • Experience developing, mentoring and coaching others.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Proven ability to work with professionals across countries and cultures.
  • Knowledge of country legislation on labor, manufacturing and SHE.
  • A proven ability to interact effectively with different stakeholders to deliver world class outcomes.
  • Full availability to travel abroad and visit customer sites (sites on 4.500 mt above sea level)
  • Preferably previous experience within Weir, understanding of how we operate in terms of customer focus and Lean environment.
