As a Certified Special Education Teacher with over 15 years of experience having taught a variety of ages, young children and teenagers. I’m confident that my background aligns perfectly with the Special Education Teacher opening at your school.

My professional background includes the design of educational programs that foster students social and emotional development, utilizing innovative methodologies such as the Montessori method and theatre pedagogy. My passion for inclusive teaching and my skills in classroom management, team leadership, and relationship building position me as a valuable resource for the United States.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialization in special education from the University of Concepción (1995-2000). I also have training in theatre pedagogy from the Image Drama Academy in Santiago (1989-1992). This solid academic foundation, complemented by my practical experience, has allowed me to develop innovative and effective pedagogical approaches to support children with attention deficit disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other special educational needs.

My work experience includes over a decade as a special needs tutor in private practice, where I provided individualized instruction and tailored strategies for students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other challenges. During this time:

• I designed customized lesson plans based on students academic and therapeutic goals.

• I trained more than 100 parents and 100 colleagues in strategies to support children with    special needs.

• I implemented methods that promoted students' self-learning and self-confidence.

As a special education teacher at Terraustral Montessori School (2015-2019), I worked with students ages 4 to 13, adapting lessons to meet the goals of their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). I also organized workshops for parents and colleagues, promoting inclusive and collaborative practices.

Furthermore, my experience as an actress, theatre educator, and academic coordinator for the drama program for five years has given me unique skills to integrate creative elements into special education, enhancing student engagement and learning.

I believe that solidarity, empathy and kindness are key values that I try to implement in my everyday classrooms experience.
