  • About the Role
  • Main Activities
  • Develop operational readiness and operating model for Trolley Assist system in Escondida.
  • Support implementation of Trolley Assist system in Escondida.
  • Contributes to the necessary systems, processes and organizational capabilities required to handover, operate and maintain a new asset.
  • Demonstrate commitment and conformance to the BHP Charter, Codes of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Demonstrate and instill an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.


  • Leadership

  • Set and clearly communicate targets (KPI) and expectations for the Trolley operations.
  • Accept accountability for the performance of their teams by ensuring quality of tasks, services and advice to the operation and asset functions.
  • Manage contracts on site through our CMF (contract management framework).
  • Manages, improves and provides expertise on safety risk management practices to improve organizational safety outcomes and performance.


  • Productivity

  • Support the operation of the Trolley systems and supporting resources safely and efficiently in accordance with the project plan.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement roadmap and initiatives are implemented until LockinValue.
  • Provide input into short/mediumterm planning to ensure accuracy.
  • Conducts engineering tasks, verifies construction methodologies and advises on engineering decisions for projects in alignment with Project/Construction/Commissioning Engineering Standards
  • Develops operational readiness plans/schedules and deliverables, evaluates systems/procedures for compliance with standards and defines training/handover requirements to efficiently prepare the asset for operations.
  • Applies an understanding of the operation's systems, activities, risk handover and key processes, terminology, and workflow.


  • About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Minimum 5 years in mining.
  • Minimum 2 year implementing new technologies in mining or operational experience
  • Experience in Operational Readiness for projects.
  • Experience in the development of capital project studies.
  • Experience in decisionmaking that directly impacted his/her own team and closely related teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Worked in a high pressure environment including time and multiple stakeholder demands.
  • A proven track record of safety management.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills.
  • Autonomous mining experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated oral and written English language preferred
