**Job Description

The Role**We are seeking a Principal Structural LATAM to provide leadership in the area of Structural Integrity across our operations in Chile, Brazil and Peru.

Key role requirements:

Management of Structural Integrity catastrophic risks by:
Ensuring an appropriate minimum technical standard is in place.
Ensuring that a community of practice of structural engineers is in place including training and development on Structural Inspection Maintenance Management
Ensuring compliance to the technical standard at operating units
Preparing reports for executives as well as the presenting to the board, as required, on the status of catastrophic risk related to vertical shafts and structures.
Monitoring the repair of major structural risks including technical advice where applicable
Ensuring that category 4 and 5 risks are eliminated from our operations.
Involvement in SIB projects and Capital projects with the aim of providing appropriate specifications and design criteria.
Involvement in Assurance work (ABAS and ORA)
Investigation and piloting of technology to monitor condition and technology in the asbuilt domain.
Specialised advice with regard to shaft design and monitoring as well as underground infrastructure.

**Qualifications

Formal Qualifications**Required:
An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

Desirable:

A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

Technical skills / knowledge requirements:

10 years experience as a structural engineer in the mining industry.
A demonstrated thought leader and considered a global expert in shafts and plant structures, conveyors, as well as pipelines.
Significant knowledge of SIMMS, concrete, corrosion protection, steelwork.
Structural design experience
Experience with major maintenance projects, including design, execution, operational readiness, maintenance supply processes and MARC management.
Language skills across Spanish, Portuguese and English.
