Preferred Qualifications and Experiences

  • University degree in Early Childhood education.
  • Experience teaching Art in an early childhood setting.
  • Experience in writing sequenced curriculum for diverse learners.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English with advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience in a multicultural school environment.

Ability to design developmentally appropriate Art lessons that advance the Early Years
- school purpose statement and Units of Inquiry.
  • Ability to design Art curriculum that connects to Early Learning standards.
  • Ability to connect and interact with students on a developmental level appropriate for young

- children.
  • Excellent human relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both host
- country and international students and parents.
  • Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • A passion for Art and Early Childhood education.
  • Plan learning experiences that attend to the standards of the Early Learning domains.
  • Plan and deliver Art lessons aligned with the Early Years Units of Inquiry.
  • Provide whole group instruction along with small group and individual support, as needed.
  • Monitor, document and evaluate student growth in relation to learning objectives.
  • Support students to develop their creativity and expression through the visual arts.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in creating authentic learning experiences for

- students.
  • Plan, organize, and participate in special events such as Fiestas Patrias, celebrations of
- learning, end of year celebrations, or as requested by the Director.
  • Responsible for supervision, safety and wellbeing of students, both in the classroom and on

- the playground.
  • Assist classroom Teacher and Teaching Assistant during supervision of whole group and

- small group activities.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe classroom/school environment
  • Communicate and coordinate all functions of the Art program with Teachers, Assistant
  • Teachers and the Director.
  • Timely and clear communication with parents.
