Preferred Qualifications and Experiences

University degree in Early Childhood education.
Experience teaching Art in an early childhood setting.
Experience in writing sequenced curriculum for diverse learners.
Bilingual in Spanish and English with advanced written and oral communication skills.
Advanced English communication skills, both written and oral.
Experience in a multicultural school environment.

Skills
Ability to design developmentally appropriate Art lessons that advance the Early Years
- school purpose statement and Units of Inquiry.

Ability to design Art curriculum that connects to Early Learning standards.
Ability to connect and interact with students on a developmental level appropriate for young

- children.

Excellent human relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both host

- country and international students and parents.

Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

A passion for Art and Early Childhood education.
Plan learning experiences that attend to the standards of the Early Learning domains.
Plan and deliver Art lessons aligned with the Early Years Units of Inquiry.
Provide whole group instruction along with small group and individual support, as needed.
Monitor, document and evaluate student growth in relation to learning objectives.
Support students to develop their creativity and expression through the visual arts.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues in creating authentic learning experiences for

- students.

Plan, organize, and participate in special events such as Fiestas Patrias, celebrations of

- learning, end of year celebrations, or as requested by the Director.

Responsible for supervision, safety and wellbeing of students, both in the classroom and on

- the playground.

Assist classroom Teacher and Teaching Assistant during supervision of whole group and

- small group activities.

Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe classroom/school environment
Communicate and coordinate all functions of the Art program with Teachers, Assistant
Teachers and the Director.
Timely and clear communication with parents.
