About the Role:


This position is part of the Marketing Metals Team and is responsible for the end to end management of the Sulphuric Acid purchases for all Minerals Americas operational assets (Escondida, Spence and Cerro Colorado mines).

Along with being responsible for day to day flow assurance you will be responsible for global market analysis, coordination of supply chain strategy and operational integrity.

All while displaying a high level of concern, care and respect for customer needs. This position has considerable autonomy and reports to the Metals Regional Marketing manager based in Santiago.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead, design, and implement regional commercial strategies to enhance the effectiveness of sulphuric acid procurement in full alignment with the operational requirements of the MinAm assets.
  • Lead complex negotiations of sulphuric acid contracts, including a thorough assessment of the supply chain alternatives, integrity of supply sources and service providers (i.e. suppliers, ports, terminals), and contractual options that affect the total delivered price.
  • Executes and manages the sourcing and contracting strategies in full in accordance with established Company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Day to day management of all of minerals Americas sulphuric acid supply contracts to ensure flow assurance and that suppliers are operating within the terms of the agreements.
  • Develop high quality business relationships and network as primary face to suppliers, cultivate data sources to support timely analysis and presentation of insights to drive team decision making, and maintain high degree of awareness of changes that impact regional supply chain.
  • High quality support for resolving supply chain disruptions coordinating with all stakeholders including suppliers and internal customer teams
  • Manage a portfolio of improvement projects and support team projects to improve data driven decision making on sulphuric acid supply chain resilience and costs saving.
  • Focus on improving processes and engaging team to prevent, and improve lead times to respond to forecastable situations.
  • Head efforts to facilitate and enhance vendor and contractor compliance with contractual agreements
  • Establish commercial reviews to enhance communication and problem/claim resolution

About You:

To be successful for this position you will need:

  • Bachelor Degree related to the position.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience related.
  • Must be able to set priorities, work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively working in a fastpaced team environment.
  • Strong negotiating skills & experience.
  • Knowledge, and experience managing enterprisewide procurement projects.
  • Knowledge of contract management, supply chain and operations.
  • Strong understanding of contract and procurement processes and exhibits the capacity to effectively selfexecute sourcing process
  • Strong analytical data driven decision making and problem solving, with little guidance from Management.
  • Professional or Native Fluency in both Spanish and English
  • Strong command of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.) with demonstrated written and oral communication skills with different levels of employees from front line to senior management
