Intermediate Project Controls Professional

GHD is looking for an
Intermediate Project Controls Professional located in Chile and ready to join our growing global operations.


The Regional PMO provides project management support services in the areas of project initiation, cost management, change management, progress measurement, reporting and project close out.

Project Controls collaborates with project managers on the development and review of project plan, estimate, schedule, risk and contractual requirements.

Develops and implements project controls and monitoring procedures to ensure the achievement of project schedule and cost objectives. Collects, analyzes and reports on project data and costs from various stakeholders (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction and accounting).


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Good understanding of overall project scope.
  • Prepares project fee spreadsheets, including work breakdown structures.
  • Reviews Estimate and provides input for mapping to the control WBS.
  • Reviews schedule and maintains list of project key milestones.
  • Maintains project time phasing for control budget and estimate to complete.
  • Compiles incurred costs reporting and variance explanations.
  • Updates cost management system with time phased data, progress, and performance trends.
  • Execute monthend activities in a timely manner to meet project reporting deadlines.
  • Produce and completes initial review of draft invoice to ensure billings align with incurred costs and compare to progress earned.
  • Regularly reviews earned progress with engineering disciplines and provide input to estimate at completion.
  • Basic awareness of Earned Value Management, rules of credit and progress measurement.
  • Monitor cost progress and performance metrics to establish potential and pending trends for the project.
  • Exercises judgement in the classification, compilation and analysis of project trends.
  • Provides overall support to Intermediate and Senior Project Controls.
  • Maintains up to date all project documentation and records.
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of contract documents, letters, or reports as assigned.
  • Setup and tracking of tasks within the company's information system or develops PowerBI dashboards as needed.
  • Involved in administrative project closeout activities.
  • Support multiple project teams.
  • Responsible for timely communication of project information to various stakeholders as needed.
  • Prepares project forecasting which includes data entry and report generation.
  • Organizational skills: should have excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects, track progress and meet project deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: should be able to communicate project information to stakeholders, collaborate with project teams, and share regular status updates. Able to communicate with different audiences as needed. Facilitating development of project schedules with internal and external teams. Able to communicate clearly in English in speaking and writing.
  • Attention to detail: should have excellent attention to detail to ensure that project documentation and records are accurate and complete.
  • Problemsolving skills: should be able to identify potential problems, analyze information, and assist in developing potential solutions to mitigate project execution risks.
  • Adaptability: as projects can be dynamic and unpredictable should be able to adapt quickly to changes and handle unexpected challenges.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient/Advanced knowledge of PowerBI, PowerApp, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, MS Project, Acrobat Writer). Cost Control processes including deliverable progress techniques (rules of credit, design checklists, etc), change management, earned value management, and project performance KPIs.
  • Team player: should be able to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with project teams, and build strong working relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding in project progress and cost analysis and/or project financials that can be applied within the consulting engineering industry.
  • Have experience in working within a project team environment, preferrable within the consulting engineering industry.
  • Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently.

Qualifications:


  • Civil Engineering University degree.
  • Minimum 5 years previous work experience in project controls related field with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates willingness and aptitude to learn more about Cost Control, Scheduling and overall Project Controls.
