As the International Nitrogen Sourcing Manager, you will lead and execute a nitrogen sourcing strategy to effectively meet operational product needs across Dyno Nobel's expanding footprint aligned to Americas Nitrogen strategy.

What You'll Do


As the International Nitrogen Sourcing Manager, for the Americas (South America, Mexico, USA, Canada and Arctic) you will lead and execute a nitrogen sourcing strategy to effectively meet operational product needs across Dyno Nobel's expanding footprint aligned to Americas Nitrogen strategy.

You will drive strategic sourcing projects through the whole Nitrogen value chain - including storage opportunities, plant execution, and transportation optimization.

This position can be based in Santiago, Chile or Salt Lake City, UT, USA Other duties include:


  • Demonstrate Zero Harm leadership and ensure compliance with all applicable IPL HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment & Community) Performance Standards, as well as applicable Acts and Regulations for areas of responsibility.
  • Creative ideas with supporting Next Best Alternative "NBA" analysis for supplying our North and South America footprints
  • Imports and Exports for North and South America
  • Swaps including ammonia to AN
  • Risk analysis of current supply with alternative sourcing options
  • Recommend and custodian of pricing guidelines for budget and project evaluations for both short term and longterm planning purposes
  • Mitigate Company risk meet all identified ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) related expectations
  • Concept generation for trading and monetizing; partner with Mfg & sustainability teams across DNA Nitrogen asset base
  • Steer the strategic direction of LATAM nitrogen sourcing and supply/demand balancing to meet both current and future business needs. Critical to leverage existing partnerships in North America and abroad to evaluate most strategic options
  • Custodian of competitor intelligence for ammonium nitrate derivative products.
  • Evaluate new and innovative Nitrogen projects to improve cost position through LATAM, including new ammonia plants, AN plants, M&A, and partnerships
  • Direct and carry out market analysis, capacity management, portfolio optimization, cost and relationship management to facilitate and achieve the best possible sourcing solutions
  • Develop business cases and strategy presentations to support the Commercial LATAM team business develop opportunities aligned to the Nitrogen footprint across the entire Americas business.
  • Collaboration with Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Business Owners to ensure imports & exports are executed efficiently & effectively
  • Along with regional Supply Chain teams, proactively manage short term and longterm supply/demand balance to meet business goals while optimizing Dyno Nobel's manufacturing footprint
  • Identify, develop, and grow relationships with domestic and international Nitrogen suppliers to improve AN opportunities
  • Manage daytoday WALA commercial function including transition to WALA offtake agreement
  • Market Knowledge Custodian convert macroeconomic industry outlooks into 35 year demand picture, market share by industry segment, pricing strategy and market balance versus Company position
  • AN & Ammonia track and present trends, outlooks, and impact to DNA business

What We're Looking For:


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant businessrelated field required, post graduate business qualification preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a relevant commercial, product management, or supply chain role within a large, multibusiness unit environment with global market exposure.
  • An experienced safety leader with a demonstrated ability to lead with Zero Harm being the number one priority
  • Detailed knowledge of, and experience in, regional and global nitrogen markets, cost drivers and supply chains
  • Demonstrated long term relationship management (external) with key industry players
  • Proven advanced negotiation skills with demonstrated capability in leading large sourcing/sales contract negotiations, conflict resolution and longterm relationship management
  • Experience in the development and delivery of supply chain optimization, systems and processes
  • Effective communication and influencing skills with both external partners and key internal stakeholders,
