The leader will be recognized as an influential and collaborative senior Finance business partner who leads beyond the role and effectively interacts at all levels of the organization to shape and drive the achievement of LATAM Financial Planning and Chile goals and objectives through:

  • An active role in strategy setting and resource allocation across the brands
  • Leadership of the financial planning process including the development and roll out of ambitious financial goals and targets that are grounded in facts and/or transparent assumptions
  • Identification and communication of the financial risks and opportunities and leadership of the execution or mitigation action plan
  • Developing a high performing Finance team focused on effective business partnering, strong internal controls and effective accounting processes


A minimum of 10 years progressive financial leadership experience supporting multiple functions and business units, and market Finance Director/Leadership roles in multinational pharmaceutical companies.

Fluent communication in Spanish and English. MBA or other professional qualification would be a plus. The position will be based in Buenos Aires, Argentina or Santiago, Chile.


Key Responsibilities/Priorities:


Lead LATAM Financial Planning Activities and Management of Reporting Processes

  • In collaboration with Finance Director of LATAM set ambitious but achievable financial goals
  • Provide support to LATAM Commercial VP and LATAM LT to better understand trends, results, risks and opportunities of the business.
  • Partnering with GMs and FDs in the region to develop recommendations to improve financial performance
  • Drive transparent financial reporting that link market insights and past performance with future outlook
  • Keep open dialogue with ICON HQ / Finance organization to have a deeply understanding of needs and requirements,
  • Work closely with LATAM FP&A community to reach corporate due dates and requirements
  • Leverage BI&A capabilities to develop realistic sales forecast based on relevant market data
  • Articulate material risks/opportunities and lead design and execution of contingency plans
  • Drive continuous focus on simplification to enable maximum time for business support
  • Hold self and others to timelines, quality and accuracy
  • Effective communications financial results and plans

Shape resource allocation across the market to maximize the value creation

  • Drive usage of financial and market data and facts for making informed business decisions knowledge
  • Partner with Chile LTs and evaluate short vs. long term investments in light of Company strategy and business priorities
  • Seek and drive opportunities to improve working capital

Build strong Finance Organization

  • Attract and develop strong finance talent.
  • Serve as an inspirational and engaging leader who motivates and engages through clear articulation of company/function strategy, aligning priorities and resources to strategies, structuring department to meet anticipated needs and building best in class competencies through strong coaching and development in tandem with external pipelining strategies
  • Orchestrate development opportunities leveraging the LATAM and Intercon network (ToD, stretch assignments)
  • Constantly scan for best practices and implement concepts as appropriate

Highest Standards of Internal Controls across LATAM markets, but more focused on Chile

  • Ensure that company assets are well protected and
  • Facilitate ongoing dialogue in the market to design, implement and maintain effective control standards
