Qualifications and Experience
Degree and teaching certification that covers Technology and/or STEM for Grades 6-8- A minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience

  • Experience teaching and assessing standards based learning and knowledge of ISTE
  • Experience developing curriculum using the Understanding by Design framework
  • Experience in a multicultural school environment
  • Fluency in English

Skills
Ability to connect with Middle School aged children and have an understanding of their
- developmental needs
  • Ability to create an engaging and active learning environment in a studentcentered
classroom

  • Strong skills of collaboration
  • Innovative thinking
  • Flexibility

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Use the school's guiding statements to determine appropriate learning objectives- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and cared
- for
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in relation to learning objectives
  • Teach a range of technology courses including, but not limited to, coding, VR, robotics,

- design technology
  • Collaborate with colleagues towards creating authentic learning experiences for students
- with opportunities to transfer learning into real life situations- described in SAMR
  • Serve as a middle school advisor
  • Contribute to the school community outside of the classroom e.g., afterschool activities,
- coaching, outdoor education etc.
  • Actively seek professional growth opportunities through Nido's PD Academy
