About the role

Glencore Copper are currently seeking a highly capable and motivated professional to join our LATAM Resources Engineering team based in either Lima or Santiago.


The position will provide mine planning support and technical governance for the Resource Development Plan (RDP) to Glencore Copper's South American Operations and Joint Ventures, aligned with corporate strategic plan.

Also, the position must provide support in divergent thinking workshops and disruptive technologies incorporation.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Provide technical leadership to RDP process, promoting the integration of all collaborating disciplines and allocate appropriate resources to workflow activities
  • Support the consolidation, review, documentation, and presentation of the RDP outcomes to the Executive Leadership team
  • Manage the portfolio initiatives, state of the art, technology readiness level and road maps to execution
  • Provide specialist support to a business or function or project as required
  • Develop and maintain systems to streamline RDP process
  • Utilize scanning capability to keep up to date with technological advancements to ensure health of discipline is industry leading and forward focused.

About the profile:


  • University Degree (BSc) in Mine Engineering is preferred. Master/Diploma in relevant discipline (desirable)
  • Minimum 15year total professional experience; 7 years as Senior Mine Engineer and 2 years as Mine Planning Superintendent level
  • Advanced used of Mine Planning software (DESWIK, VULCAN, MINESIGHT would be a plus) and Strategic Optimization tools (COMET, DESWIK.GO, or other)
  • English, Medium to Advanced (written and speaking)
  • Desirable QP certification an ability to act as CP for Ore Reserves under JORC reporting
  • Leadership skill, able to influence positively, flexibility, initiative and problem solving


The role is expected to travel to Glencore owned sites as required (up to 40% travel may be required from time to time).
