    What you will be doing
  • Regional compliance to the company's Tax Standard, Tax Procedures and Tax Guidelines.
  • Ensure the tax obligations and tax laws in all countries in region are complied with for direct and indirect taxes.
  • Ensure all compliance obligations for the region are lodged and paid on time and in compliance with local requirements. Coordinate finance staff and/or external service providers to achieve this.
  • Assist in managing the tax effect accounting for the region.
  • Assist with management of the effective tax rate for the region, including management of tax losses, efficient repatriation of profits, tax efficient structures, thin capitalisation, utilisation of tax losses.
  • Assist with tax audits assist with income tax audit compliance and management; assist with indirect tax audit compliance and management; assist with tax controversy case management.
  • Assist with strategy and planning regional tax planning, strategic tax planning, tax rulings, regional funding advice.
  • Assist with projects tax implications of M&A proposals including legal structure and debt/equity structure; develop, implement and manage tax transactions to manage the tax rate and/or tax risk; structure of the group new entities, removing entities; tax implications of country entry.
  • Assist with management of the regional transfer pricing program for documentation and strategy. Provide advice in region on cross border transactions.
  • Help manage the relationship with Revenue authorities and external advisors for the region.
  • Assist with tax governance assist with the taxation letter of assurance process, assist with the reporting and implementing or controls for tax risks.
  • Keep up to date with legislative changes in the region. Proactively manage any changes required as a result of legislative changes.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement in the tax compliance and tax reporting functions.

What you will bring

  • Professional designation CPA or ACA or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax treaties, income source rules and VAT principles of LATAM counties
  • Experience in international tax law and IFRS tax reporting
  • Experience in dealing with tax issues for multiple countries in LATAM
  • 34 years in a professional accounting / legal environment or corporate taxation
  • Business advisory experience preferred
  • Audit experience preferred
  • SAP background (HANA is an advantage)
  • Knowledge of Thomson Reuters Onesource Products is an advantage
  • Upper intermediate English spoken and written
