Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background and the internship period


Duties may include:

  • Support the generation of macroeconomic statistics in the areas of employment, wages and productivity;
  • Support the development of empirical analysis through the use of statistical and econometric techniques on employment and macroeconomic issues;
  • Other duties as required.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,

(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).

  • For this internship, studies in the area of economics is desirable.
Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of Spanish is required. Knowledge of another UN official language would be an asset.


NOTE:
"Fluency" equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ̈knowledge of ̈ equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.
