You are going to be joining an interdisciplinary team with Linguists, Research experts, Lawyers, Machine learning engineers and Developers with one common goal, free the world of biases.

In Theodora AI, we believe that a crucial step towards building a better world is to reduce biases in media.

And to do that, we have developed proprietary datasets and models to detect automatically possible cases of bias towards towards gender, age, ethnicity and others.

We operate as a B2B service that currently works with government agency's, Ministries and corporations in Chile with a high volume of employees so we need all hands on deck (including yours) to scale up and keep growing.

We are currently focused on building a better platform so our clients can take advantage of our bias detection and correction algorithms.

Our team is hard-working, goal-oriented, proactive and as mentioned before multi-disciplinary so expect to get immersed in an always changing and learning work atmosphere.

Job functions:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 1+ years of proven experience in backend development.
• Strong knowledge of database design principles and practices.
• Proficiency in frameworks like Django or Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with API frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Sanic.
• Proficiency in code version control with Git with Git Flow.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in Linux environments.
• Must be a native Spanish or English speaker.
• Proficiency in React or frameworks.
• Strong command of CSS libraries such as Bootstrap or Tailwind.
• Familiarity with plotting libraries like , , or Fusion Charts

Qualifications and requirements:

• Collaborate, product managers, stakeholders and team mates to build an effective solution that meets user and business needs
• Utilize your expertise in database structure design to create wellorganized and optimized database schemas.
• Leverage frameworks like Django, Ruby on Rails, and API frameworks such as Fast API, Flask, or Sanic to build and maintain backend services.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using React or while adhering to coding standards.
• Leverage your expertise in plotting libraries to create interactive data visualizations that enhance user understanding.
• Implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to manage and transform data from various sources.
• Employ version control techniques with Git to ensure effective collaboration and code management within the development team using Git Flow.
• Utilize SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL, to manage and query data effectively.
• Embrace Agile methodologies, participating in sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives to contribute to an efficient and collaborative development environment.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, providing technical insights and guidance as needed.

Desirable skills:

• Knowledge in vector databases like Qdrant, Milvus
• DevOps knowledge
• Experience with unit testing to ensure code quality
• Familiarity with ML and AI techniques
• Being a native Spanish speaker and advanced English speaker.
