Job Description:


  • PURPOSE


Provide expert technical advice to ensure safe optimal, sustainable performance under multiples scenarios, maximising sustainable long-term value from our assets, engaging our shareholders in the most innovative-constructive way.


Safety, Health & Environmen t**- Support consistent functional strategy, standards, and procedures deployment in alignment to zero harm policies and elimination of fatalities.

  • Monitor JVs specific plans/systems to reduce exposure to business risk

Performance & Delivery

  • Provide technical support to the JVs management ensuring compliance with shareholder agreements, governance, international and local regulations in a sustainable and profitable manner.
  • Deploy engagement strategy to build longterm relations with JVs, NMJV and coshareholders.
  • Ensure the maximisation of JV ́s longterm pathway.
  • Inform the JV ́s Technical Committees about the state of the JVs to ensure the shareholders are up to date, properly and timely informed in alignment to Anglo American ́s corporate governance model.
  • Support and develop Pathway Scenarios to maximise the longterm value. In the specific context of Los Bronces Codelco Andina (easement agreement) must ensure the personal interactions, mine planning and execution of the agreements for the success of the assets in alignment with Copper CEO, GM and T&S disciplines teams for LoAP and RDP.
  • Ensure and monitor implementation of Governance Agreement with DAND "Acuerdo de Operativización"
  • Provide technical support to Collahuasi JV in terms of actual performance, budget, LoA and RDP process and plans.
  • Implement the Operational Business Plan in the JVs in alignment with Anglo American ́s Strategy.
  • Support the portfolio in charge to grow the business in the longterm.
  • Adopt new technologies to accelerate business growth.
  • Advise JVs on technical matters that grant operational business continuity plans.

Sustainability & Social

  • Integrate Anglo American's approach in the Growth Strategy to both sustainability and social performance as relevant to the discipline to improve business performance over time.
  • Contribute to deliver the Sustainable Mining Plan commitments as set out in the plan.

People & Teams

  • Promote and implement a purposeled, highperforming culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity.
  • Ensure that the Operating Model and the Organizational Model are embedded in the ways of working and sustainably deliver 5year plan.

Compliance

  • Ensure adherence and compliance with JV board members, corporate governance, and local legislation in alignment with internal AA standards, making necessary changes and updates when needed.
  • Develop of specific JV plans to reduce exposure to business risk.

Qualifications:


  • Knowledge
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • A bachelor in mining engineering or related field
  • Other academic courses in strategic business management, environmental management, economics and/or finance.
  • Business acumen and commercial thinking
  • Knowledge
of director responsibilities with an emphasis on the jurisdiction of the relevant NMJV. Certificate of Board Director should be obtained

  • Knowledge
of competition law or antitrust training and the appropriate confidentiality arrangements and information barriers / ring-fencing where relevant competition law protocols require

  • Ability to gain an understanding of global best practices related to managing strategic partnerships.
  • Fluent English & Spanish
Technical Skills

  • Advanced English and Spanish language skills
  • Experience working with different senior stakeholders (Internal and external)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and work multitask simultaneously
  • Experience and knowledge of the mining business
  • Strong planning, management & control management, and coordination skills
  • Information, Database and documents management for greater collaboration both within the BU as well as with Group Function resources
