We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team.


As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our software development, hardware testing and deployment processes, with a focus on helping out the Fleet Infrastructure team to support, provision, bring up, and manage compute infrastructure.


Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and

Issue Resolution:

Act as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to the Operating Systems, Networks, Network Attached Storage (NAS), JBODs, and Hardware.

Analyze and resolve system failures, performance bottlenecks, and other technical issues in the Linux environment to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability and stability of our systems.


  • Support Fleet Infrastructure Team: Assist the Fleet Infrastructure team in provisioning, bringing up, and managing
    Bagrack, Maprack, and Carbench compute infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and maintain robust monitoring systems to proactively identify and address potential issues. Monitor system health, performance metrics, and log data to detect anomalies and develop appropriate response strategies. Set up alerts and notifications to ensure prompt awareness and resolution of critical incidents.
  • Incident Response and

Root Cause Analysis:

Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with cross-functional teams to mitigate the impact of incidents and restore services as quickly as possible.

Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and develop strategies for prevention and continuous improvement.

  • Automation and

Process Improvement:

Collaborate with software development and operations teams to automate manual processes, streamline workflows, and improve system reliability and scalability.

Implement and enhance deployment pipelines, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices to drive efficiency and consistency.

  • Continuous Integration and Deployment: Work closely with development teams to implement and maintain effective CI/CD pipelines, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of software updates and releases. Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement strategies to achieve continuous integration, testing, and deployment goals.
  • Collaboration and

Knowledge Sharing:
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among cross-functional teams.

Provide technical guidance and support to developers and operations staff, promoting best practices for troubleshooting, incident response, and system reliability.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (5 years preferably)
  • Experience troubleshooting issues related to the OS, networking, hardware, and NAS/JBODs.
  • Familiarity with onpremise hardware and servers and experience in supporting, provisioning, and managing computer infrastructure.
  • Previous experience with Python will be highly preferred
  • Proficiency in automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to streamline workflows and improve system reliability is definitely a plus.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana) for proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
