Purpose:


Leads a team focused on the monitoring and governance of a portfolio of projects in order to seek opportunities for value creation and preservation by setting program-wide strategies for standardisation, replication and continuity.

Coaches and develops team to deliver high performance.


About the Role:


Lead indirectly a team focused on:

  • Portfolio Performance and Reporting, supporting the Asset and projects team to deliver the capital portfolio, the Asset CAP cycle, and the Asset Investment review committee.
  • Implementation of global and regional initiatives for projects.
  • Projects Governance and Assurance.
  • Risk, identifying and mitigating risk across the projects lifecycle in line with compliance standards and requirements to drive value, safety and optimised outcomes for BHP.

Other accountabilities:

  • Coach and develop the team to deliver high performance results.
  • Maintain close interaction with key stakeholders from the Asset, Functions, PCoE and MinAm projects (translate regional and global strategy into operational plans for the team, understand voice of the customer, capture of good practices, and opportunities for replication).
  • Conducts benchmarking, implements prioritisation methodologies and identifies key investment drivers to effectively manage key requirements across the portfolio.
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives.
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Conducts presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience.
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence based decision making.
  • Applies and evaluates change management tools, methods, data, purpose, value and strategic direction.
  • Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.

About You:


  • Civil Engineer / Business/ Finance, entitled.
  • Experience in projects, consulting firms or finance with focus on portfolio management, project controls, data analysis and reporting, risk and continuous improvement.
  • English written and spoken.
