The Opportunity

Glencore Copper is currently seeking a highly capable and motivated professional to join our LATAM OE & Tech team based in either Lima, Santiago or Antofagasta.


  • The position will sustain the Standardized Work Program in Glencore copper assets, defining methodologies and routines to be implemented globally (Latam, Canada and Africa), focusing on culture and project delivery. Provide support in the Operational Performance business function in the rollout of governance, analysis, projects, initiatives, reporting and strategic planning activities. This professional will be the expert regarding Standardized Work Methodology (SMED, Wrench time, etc.), leading the correct implementation across copper sites, to achieve full potential.

In this role you will be responsible for:


Reporting to the Operational Excellence Departmental Manager,- Lead global program of Standardized Work program for its correct implementation and deployment, transferral of best practices.


  • Definition, development and execution of Standardized Work program, practices and methodologies to ensure improvements in all sites.
  • Align Standardized Work under the Asset Management Framework and Copper Management System, coordinating with the Asset Management team and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting implementation of continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide coaching and ensure embedment of Standardized Work tools and methodologies on site and regions.
  • Engagement with assets for works initiatives including support in development of assessment models, review and governance.
  • Coordination with assets and stakeholders on inputs, assumptions and value of each project.
  • Management of consultant activities as required.

About the profile:
Your training, skills & expertise checklist


  • Bachelor's degree in Maintenance, Engineering, Science, Finance, Commerce or Business.
  • Postgraduate in Business, Finance, Engineering.
  • Full English proficiency and Spanish (mandatory), French is a surplus.
  • Black belt Six sigma, LEAN or similar required (surplus).
  • PIPware proficiency or similar (Wave, Shibumi, Impact, etc.)
  • 7 years' experience in an operations, maintenance or functional roles in an industrial business, preferable in mining.
  • Experience in Standardized Work implementation, preferable in mining and maintenance.
  • Background or experience in continuous improvement (Standardized Work, SMED, WILO, Performance Dialogue, etc.) and/or Lean model (C+, BOS, Lingo, etc.).
