The Company

Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client in Santiago & Lima are working together to source a highly capable and motivated professional to join our LATAM Resources Engineering team.

The Role

The position will provide geotechnical and hydrogeology engineering geology support across the region with the objective of improving Glencore Copper's South American Operations and Joint Ventures, aligned with corporate strategic plan.

Also, the position will provide advice to the project teams on the completion of the Strategic/Tactical/Operational Mine planning studies at Conceptual, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies for Glencore ́s projects.

The Responsibilities

Supporting the preparation and the implementation of the Geotechnical and Hydrogeology governance and guidelines.
Provide specific technical support the Geotechnical & Hydrogeology project related to ensure the quality of the engineering geology process as requested by stakeholders (e.g., rock mass and structural characterizations, hydrogeological characterization, modelling and mine designing).
Support the Resource Engineering team on the Life of Asset (LoA) and Resource Development Plan (RDP) review process.
Research and implement new technologies.

The Requirements

University Degree (BSc) in Mine Engineering, Civil Engineer, or Geology. Diploma in relevant discipline (desirable). Master of Science (desirable).
Minimum 13year total proven professional experience in engineering geology, mine operations and projects. Minimum 8 as Geotechnical Engineer (ground control, geotechnical design engineer) with relevant operational exposure.
Medium user level of Vulcan, Deswik, MineSight and Leapfrog (all software previous mentioned will be a plus).
Advance user of "Rocscience" software packages.
User of "FeFlow" software package.
User of numerical modelling software such us, Itasca Packages, Map3D will be beneficial.
English, Medium desirable (written and speaking).
Excellent communicator, Flexible, Tolerant to changes, problem solving.
The role is expected to travel to Glencore owned and JV sites as required (up to 30% travel may be required from time to time).
