Senior Lithium Specialist (based in Chile)

The seniorleadership role is responsible for managing the successful implementation of LithiumExtraction technology across key projects. The leader will also have matrixedoversight of functional teams and responsibility for managing the schedule of studies.The leader will provide cross-functional support to the team for projectsacross various functions like research and development processes. Thesuccessful candidate will have a solid technical lithium background and a trackrecord of managing large, complex technology projects developed by leadingcross-functional teams.

• Apply your expertise in the technical integration of Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology with the overall lithium processing facility.
• Deliver your knowledge in Pre-treatment, Direct Lithium Extraction (IX technology), Reverse Osmosis, Impurity Removal, Ion exchange, Lithium Carbonate or Lithium hydroxide production, and bleed treatment.
• Prepare technical documents for studies ranging from conceptual to feasibility level studies. The technical documents included Block diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Mass balance, process simulation, Opex, and Capex.
• Work with a team of skilled engineers, designers, and project support staff.
• Manage a variety of cross-discipline teams to ensure cost-effective, safe, and timely completion of projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Review and approve process plant material balance, process design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, plant layouts, technical specifications, and technical evaluations.
• Prepare capital and operating cost evaluations.
• Liaise with clients on a technical level and present reports, publications, and presentations in a professional manner.
• Create and review proposals.
• Train and share experiences with younger engineers.
• Participate in business development and corporate growth.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalence.
• +10 years of experience in the lithium business.
• General areas of expertise include metallurgical test work planning/analysis, crushing, grinding, flotation, hydrometallurgy, water treatment, heap leaching, CIL/CIP, and electrowinning/refining.
• Strong track record of successfully completing projects in the mining industry.
• Available for occasional travel to domestic and international destinations.
• Enthusiasm and capacity for business development and corporate growth.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and process simulation software.
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written (English, a second language is an asset).
• Recommended experience: feasibility study and NI experience.
• Asset: interested in process control and optimization.
• Asset: operations and/or consulting experience.
• Asset: demonstrated ability to find innovative solutions to complex metallurgical lithium problems.
