- Incubate a specific portfolio of new business opportunities and responsibilities for the performance of those initiatives.
- Develop and assess the strategic alignment of the new business to an existing business, and opportunities, with the corresponding solutions, and risks to shareholder value.
- Perform ongoing analysis of emerging and adjacent market, product, competitive, and technology trends to identify new business opportunities specifically supporting, adjacent to, or as diversification to core business lines.
- Identify and develop solutions, assets, partnerships, or investments that will provide a sustainable advantage to improve the success of the new business. Seek out alliances, partnerships, and industry relationships to enhance our position as a respected thought leader within the related industry and understand and articulate trends and implications for any investment in the new business area.
- Assist the Senior Management in the preparation of client proposals and pitches, through formal RFP response processes as well as on an ad hoc basis.
- Preparation of accurate financial models to support decisions on acquisitions and new business.
- Region-specific duties such as:
- Analyze and document requirements for specific new business solutions & projects for telecom sites.
- Provide advice and make decisions about which technologies would be suitable to use for various projects.
- Participate in technology selection and help manage RFQs with OEMs.
- Create the solution technical value proposition.
- Set and manage the collaboration framework for project execution and develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
- Engage with various vendors and suppliers and build relationships to obtain optimized costs.
- Control solution development with suppliers and integrators.
- Project management best practices knowledge.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
- Bachelor's Degree in in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field of study.
- 5-10 years' experience working for a telecommunications company or performing investment analysis including 3+ years preferably in a business development-related function with a proven track record of developing and executing strategic projects.
- Ability to perform financial analytical work for complex transactions, based on in-depth analytical and financial analysis; experience in knowing what to look for inefficiently ensuring quality control; and directing the appropriate analysis to understand risk factors in a project.
- Good business judgment in identifying potential business partners.
- Experience with the design and implantation of projects using telecom equipment and technologies.
- Deep knowledge of relevant telecom energy-related equipment and technologies. Familiarity with best practices for telecom equipment and needs. Working knowledge of electrical grid quality. Must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all commercial and technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction. Strong, team-oriented leadership skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and intermediate proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, CRM, and Project management tools.
- Domestic Travel 10% of the time
- Valid Government Issued Driver's License
